1. Editorial Process
Manuscripts submitted to J. Integr. Biomed. Sci. R. must represent original, unpublished work that is not under review or accepted elsewhere. Submission indicates that all authors approve final manuscript and authorize the corresponding author to handle communication with the journal. All submissions receive an acknowledgment upon receipt.
Each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial assessment to evaluate originality, scientific rigor, clarity, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal scope. Submissions lacking methodological robustness, novelty, proper ethical approval, or alignment with the journal aims may be declined without external review. Manuscripts authored by Editorial Board members are managed independently by the Editor-in-Chief and assessed exclusively by external reviewers. Board members are not involved in decisions regarding their own work.
Manuscripts passing initial screening are sent for double-blind peer review by at least two qualified experts, whose identities remain concealed from the authors and vice versa. Reviewers are selected based on subject expertise, research experience, and publication record. Authors may propose potential reviewers; however, the final selection is made by the editorial team, and suggested reviewers must have no institutional ties to the authors.
A handling editor evaluates reviewer reports and issues a decision (accept, revise, or reject). For revision decisions, authors must submit a detailed, point-by-point response and upload a revised manuscript in the allotted timeframe. Multiple revision rounds may be required.
Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting for language, clarity, formatting, and journal style. Page proofs are then sent to corresponding author, who must return corrections. Changes requested after this stage may not be incorporated.
To facilitate rapid dissemination, accepted papers are published online as Ahead of Print/early view with assigned DOIs. Issue assignment follows during compilation of the journal’s triannual volumes.
2. Clinical Trial Registration Policy
J. Integr. Biomed. Sci. R. supports full transparency in clinical research. All clinical trials must be registered in a publicly accessible database before participant enrollment. Acceptable registries include:
® ClinicalTrials.gov
® ISRCTN Registry
® WHO International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (ICTRP)
® Accredited national or regional registries with open public access
Trials initiated after the journal’s launch must be prospectively registered. Earlier trials may be considered if retrospectively registered in a public registry. The registration number and URL must be included in the manuscript.
3. Authorship Criteria
Authorship must follow the ICMJE Recommendations. Each author must have substantially contributed to:
® Study conception/design, or data acquisition, or data analysis/interpretation
® Drafting or critically revising the manuscript
® Final approval of the version to be published
Individuals involved solely in funding acquisition, general supervision, or data collection may not qualify for authorship. All authors must take public responsibility for the integrity of work. Changes in authorship order after submission require written agreement from all authors. If the number of authors is unusually large for the article type, justification must be provided.
4. Contribution Details (CRediT Taxonomy)
Authors must specify individual contributions using the CRediT roles, including conceptualization, methodology, literature search, experimental work, data acquisition, analysis, statistical evaluation, drafting, editing, supervision, and project administration. At least one author must serve as the guarantor, assuming responsibility for the work from inception to publication.
5. Conflict of Interest / Competing Interests
All authors must disclose any personal, academic, financial, or institutional interests that may influence the work. Examples include funding, employment, consultancies, honoraria, patents, product ownership, or personal relationships.
If no conflicts exist, authors must state: “The authors declare no competing interests.”
6. AI Use Policy
Responsible use of AI tools (e.g., for language editing, coding support, data exploration) is permitted provided:
® AI use is transparently disclosed in the manuscript (Methods or Acknowledgment)
® AI systems are not credited as authors
® AI is not used to fabricate data, images, references, or results
® Authors verify and accept full responsibility for all AI-assisted content
Undisclosed or inappropriate AI use may result in rejection or post-publication action
7. Plagiarism Policy
All submissions are checked for plagiarism. Manuscripts containing copied content, improper attribution, data manipulation, or self-plagiarism may be rejected. If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article will be retracted. Permission is required for the reuse of any previously published content.
